It's time for another Etsy Shop feature and Valentine's Day Giveaway #2 - yahoo!! I have a PRECIOUS little shop for you today that makes me wonder WHY in the WORLD I don't have a daughter?!? I mean, I would buy everything IN Om Sewn Creations!! With that said, Om Sewn DOES have items for little boys, after all, it was the Stud Muffin Shirt that drew me in at first!! But then, when I started looking around...I was "ooohing" and "aaahing" all over the place!! I mean, the Itty Bitty Leggings are just TOO CUTE!! And at the prices offered by Michelle in her shop, how can you NOT buy some?!? I'm racking my brain just to think...who can I give these too?? I would SO love to dress up a little girl in these cute leggings! ESPECIALLY as cold as it's been in Alabama lately! I've asked Michelle to answer a few questions for us to help us get to know her and her shop, Om Sewn Creations, a little better. Michelle is a super sweetheart! What is the inspiration behind the name of your shop?

People are always questioning the name of my shop; some of my family members have even told me to change it. I suppose not everyone understands it. But the name of my shop has a very special meaning to me. "Om: the eternal word is all; what was, what is, what shall be." My experiences, my creations and my endeavors are all what was, what is, and what shall be in my life. Everything I have done and every choice I have made had led me to this point. My shop allows me to express myself and let others take part in my journey through life. And so I found it suiting for this huge accomplishment of mine to hold the title of Om.

How long have you been sewing and creating?

For as long as I can remember! My mom sews and crafts and brought me up doing the same. I remember sewing quilts for my dolls, clothing for myself, and doing an infinite number of crafts on a daily basis. I can honestly say I would not be doing this today if is wasn't for my mom.

What is your favorite item you've created so far and why?

This is a tough one! I love everything I create and sometimes I have a difficult time parting with my creations. I would have to say one of my favorite items is the holiday outfit. My daughter, just looked so precious wrapped up like a little gift, and the matching tutu with bells was the perfect addition to our Christmas morning. Although, I am very excited about a new creation that is in the works! It may be my next new favorite :)

Anything else about yourself you would like to share?
I am originally from Middleton, MA but now live on Long Island with my husband, Eric, and 21 month old daughter, Kali Jo. We hope to move to a more rural area soon. I feel more in touch with my creative side when surrounded by nature.

What are your thoughts on Valentine's Day? Do you celebrate, how?

I love Valentine's Day! I feel it is a reminder to show people that you love them, because sometimes in our day to day life, we forget to do that. I don't look at it as a holiday for couples only.
I do celebrate this controversial holiday. Mostly with cards sent to loved ones. This year I am also planning a special Valentine's Day craft to do with my daughter since she is now old enough. And of course there is my favorite celebration of this holiday - Chocolate!
